Sorry

Hi everyone,

I want to apologize for my part in taking us off course on Tuesday. I realize I need to put the WAIT (why am I talking) acronym into practice. I'll do my best to listen more and talk less at our next meeting.

  1. I appreciated you sharing your stories. I am struck by this very familiar response to discussions about race, where personal stories emerge.

I wonder if this will be a feature in the dialogues where there will be a variable reaction to one's contribution of personal story- which may or may not be seen as valuable, relevant, "with the agenda" or "name the response." I am sure this will happen during the facilitation. What tentative rules of thumb would be productive in this case?

Leda mentioned in the next post about some feelings of concern over what did or did not happen according to expectations. Again I suspect that this will be the case in the dialogues as well. Does any one have any suggestions about addressing these concerns so that this disappointment generates a more productive agenda of meeting expectations that sometimes conflict?
